Recycling has numerous positive impacts on our community and environment.  OC Waste & Recycling deeply values diverting recyclable material from landfills so it can be reused or repurposed. Programs we currently have in place at our active landfill sites include composting, metal recycling and mattress recycling.

The County of Orange operates one of the nation’s premier solid waste disposal systems, providing this essential public service to residents and businesses in 34 cities and unincorporated areas. Our three active landfills are among the largest statewide, receiving more than four million tons of solid waste annually.

Due to Senate Bill 1383, businesses and multifamily complexes are subject to changes in recycling and waste disposal. This new legislation was put forth in order to reduce the amount of organic waste that enters landfills with a goal to reduce organic waste disposal 75% by 2025.
