OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) closed out one of its busiest spring seasons for community outreach on Saturday, May 20, at the annual OC Public Works Open House. The event was one of nine supported by the department this April and May alone, aimed at reaching OC residents to educate about eco-friendly recycling habits and waste management services provided by the County. Through these efforts, OCWR reached more than 6,000 residents, supported two campaigns and raised $5,000 for United Way.

Bowerman Landfill staff put out the welcome mat again this year to host the annual Dine at the Dump United Way fundraiser. CEO Frank Kim welcomed 250 guests to the thirteenth edition of this one-of-a-kind event, noting that employees’ participation in the United Way campaign has changed lives for the better.
