Keep Orange County Clean and Green at Honda Center Eco Challenge Collection Event

Saturday, November 4, 2017, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

OC Waste & Recycling announces the Eco Challenge Day collection event at the Honda Center on Saturday, November 4 from 8 to 11 a.m.

  • Bring e-waste, gently used clothing and papers for shredding.
  • Arrive early for a chance to earn prizes, including tickets to the Discovery Cube and a Ducks game (while supplies last). 

OC Waste & Recycling in collaboration with Anaheim Ducks Hockey and Discovery Cube, are hosting this eco-friendly family fun event, which takes place in the Honda Center parking lot. Bring the whole family and enjoy the Ducks hockey spot, live music from Go Country, and other fun activities!

Residents are encouraged to bring e-waste, gently-used clothing and paper for shredding. Participants will have a chance to score valuable prizes, such as tickets to the Ducks game with a post-game skate and tickets to Discovery Cube.

All participants will have an opportunity to:

  • Win an autographed team hockey stick, team jersey, player photos, and pucks (while supplies last).
  • Meet Wild Wing and the Anaheim Ducks’ Street Team.
  • Receive a coupon for a free child’s admission to Discovery Science Center and other free Ducks-branded giveaways at the OC Waste and Recycling booth.

“The Eco Challenge Day event combines sustainable practices with fun and learning,” said Board Chairwoman Michelle Steel. “This is a good way to help keep Orange County clean and green and engage our young residents to be good environmental stewards.”

What to Bring to the Eco Challenge Day collection event:

  • E-Waste is any electronic equipment that is near or at the end of its useful life. Examples include computers, CPUs, laptops, home use photocopiers and printers, cell phones, digital cameras, televisions (CRTs & flat screens), VCRs, video game consoles and associated devices.   • Documents for Shredding: Any document that has personal information such as name, address, phone number, social security number, family information and personal records should be shredded.

Household Hazardous Waste will not be collected at this event.
