the Collection Centers for FREE.
What are the operating hours of
the Centers?
All Centers are open Tuesday through
Saturday, 9 AM to 3 PM. The centers are closed on rainy
days, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas
and New Years Days.
How much household hazardous waste
can I bring to the Centers?
You may bring up to 15 gallons of liquids
or 125 pounds of powdered and/or solid hazardous waste
per trip. You may make as many trips as you need.
Can I bring hazardous waste from
my business to the Centers?

What is accepted at the Centers?
The centers accept products such as
latex and oil base paint, antifreeze, batteries, computers,
electronics, fertilizers, herbicides, hobby supplies,
pesticides, used oil and more. Click

Why wasn't my trash picked up?
Trash is picked up by trash haulers
that are under contract for trash collection. To find
out why your trash wasn't picked up you will need to contact
your trash hauler directly.

Where else can I take my trash?
Non-Orange County citizens call 1-(714)-834-4000.
Orange County citizens may take their trash to privately
owned transfer stations for a fee.
Ttransfer stations are solid waste facilities where smaller
refuse collection vehicles dump their loads of waste onto
a tipping floor. This waste is then placed into larger
transfer vehicles for transport to the point of ultimate
disposal. Use of this type of facility reduces hauling
costs and also reduces the number of trucks on the highway.

How do I open a Deferred Charge
Payment Account for my business?
If you are a regular business user you
may apply for a Deferred Charge Payment Account. You can
pick up an application form at any of the landfills or
call us at (714) 834-4000 and ask to be transferred to
the Accounts Receivable Department.
What forms of payment do you accept
at the landfill?
We accept cash or check. We do not accept
any credit cards. Please make checks payable to the County
of Orange.
What do you charge per ton?
The tonnage rate is $27 per ton for
the general public.
How do they determine how much
I am going to pay?
A vehicle is weighed upon entering pass
the fee booth. The vehicle is re-weighed when it is leaving
the landfill. The difference in the weight is the amount
the fee will be based upon.
