Contaminated Soil

Dirt haulers with soils that are contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, solvents, toxic metals, or other potentially harmful materials, must contact a Materials Regulation Specialist at (714) 834-4000 for information on the acceptability of their soils.

If you are hauling soil that is not contaminated you may call the landfills directly for disposal information. Click here for landfill exemption and information.

Attention: As a result of the Red Imported Fire Ant Quarantine now in effect for all of Orange County, the movement of soil within and out of Orange County is prohibited by law except when the soil is inspected and approved by the State Agricultural Commission. For further information contact the local office of the State Agricultural Commission located in Costa Mesa at (714) 708-1910.

Click here for more information on the Red Imported Fire Ant.

If you have more questions, call IWMD at (714) 834-4000 and ask to speak to a Materials Regulation Specialist.
